A private company that was incorporated in Australia in 2010, Newgenco Exploration (West Africa) Pty Ltd (‘NEWA‘) is focused on Ni-Cu-PGE opportunities in West Africa.

In March 2010, NEWA signed a 2-year strategic exploration targeting alliance with TSX- and LME-listed First Quantum Minerals to explore for economic magmatic nickel-copper-platinum group element  (Ni-Cu-PGE) sulphide resources across a number of countries in West Africa.

The targeting alliance will benefit from First Quantum’s sponsorship of the West Africa Exploration Initiative (WAXI) - a collaborative research project operated by AMIRA International Ltd and sponsored by all the major geological surveys and many exploration and mining companies operating in West Africa.
