Peter Williams

Peter is an internationally renowned geophysicist and explorationist. He has held positions including Chief Geophysicist and Manager of Geoscience Technology for WMC.

More recently, he was heavily involved in the development and success of Independence Group in Australia and the discovery of the McLeay nickel sulphide deposit at Kambalda. He has also been directly involved with the discovery of gold deposits in Western Australia and West Africa, copper-gold Deposits in South Australia and a uranium deposit. Peter has worked in nickel, gold, base metal (Zn, Pb, Cu), uranium, diamonds and water exploration throughout the world over the last 27 years.

He has been actively involved in the development and effective deployment of various exploration technologies and the integration of geophysics, geology and geochemistry in a wide variety of ore environments. He has authored in excess of 20 papers and has been an invited presenter at the fourth and fifth Decennial International Conferences in Toronto, EXPLORATON ’97 AND ’07.

Peter is Managing Director of Newgenco Exploration (Fennoscandia) Pty Ltd.

Outside newgenco, Peter is Technical Director of West Africa-focused Ampella Mining.
